These two maps display Michigan's licensed child care providers' capacity in relation to provider types and community characteristics:
- Michigan's Providers by License Type - Approximates the relationship between Michigan’s licensed child care supply and estimated child care demand by provider type.
- Community Characteristics of Michigan's Licensed Child Care Providers - Shows how providers are distributed across community resource level, geographic type, and population size.
The maps can be filtered by community characteristics to demonstrate how providers are distributed across community resource level, geographic type, and population size. The maps can also be filtered by zip codes, counties, and economic development regions. Data are updated daily from on the Child Care Hub Information Records Portal (CCHIRP) maintained by Michigan’s Child Care Licensing Bureau. Users can hover over terms displayed on the map to see definitions.
